The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is widely known as the world’s “Atoms for Peace” organization within the United Nations family. Set up in 1957 as the world’s center for cooperation in the nuclear field, the Agency works with its Member States and multiple partners worldwide to promote the safe, secure and peaceful use of nuclear technologies.
The International Atomic Energy Agency is an international organization which provides the idea of a peaceful use of nuclear energy and strongly inhibits the use of any military actions, including nuclear weapons. For this matter, it supports with implementing safeguards against misuse of nuclear energy as well as security standards. It serves as an intergovernmental forum for scientific and technical cooperation and reports to both the United Nations General Assembly and Security Council.
